ABOUT ALICE
ALICE PUMPERNICKEL
Born in Brooklyn Heights, long before its current fashion, Alice Pumpernickel grew up in a fifth floor apartment on Orange Street near Cranberry Street and, of course, Pineapple Street. She remembers springtime perambulations and playgrounds on the Promenade and winter nights sparkling with Christmas tree promises.
At the age of six, Alice began illustrating and writing stories for children and she hasn't stopped. Creating bedtime stories for her own son added significantly to the collection. Of those presented here, What Wish Comes True?, The Whiners, and Christmas Tree Tales were transcribed as soon as he fell asleep. Lula Loses Sleep, Rainbow in My Room, and Gosbos have earlier roots.
Alice currently lives in a small Northern California city with 2 grey-and-white cats, 1 wonderful husband and 1 marvelous son (when he’s home from university).
